Glowing, glimmering, and shining bright, Goddess Dorthea’s “Mystic Meditation Music” has an understated beauty to it. Full of the exploration of the holy, of the pure, there is a kindness to the way she balanced each verse. The songs have a massive, almost otherworldly quality to them while they waft on by in their gentle manner. Atmosphere matters a great deal for she brings a great deal of influences into the sound, going from hip-hop to psychedelic rock to ambient, making the entirety of the album full of constant twists and turns.

The positivity of “Holy Water (cleansing)” features an impeccable buildup, as the bass and finger snap combo results in a communal presence. With a jazzy glow comes the reflective “New Moon Magic (intentions)”. Pushing the sound of soul into a futuristic ode akin to Janelle Monae’s output comes “Pack Light (divine balance)” as the piano keys sprinkled throughout help to flesh out the sound. “Seven Days of Light (channeling)” features a bloom of sound, one that feels celebratory. On “Godis Love (Goddess mirrorwork)” they have a bit of playfulness that gets woven into the atmosphere. A late-night vibe flows through the easy-going “Finding Full Moon Divinity”. Stately with the careful chords “Divine Partner (manifesto)” offers a bit of flexibility, with the giddy groove becoming infectious. “Money Manifestation (Abundance)” brings things to a close with the sense of individualism.

“Mystic Meditation Music” shows off the uncanny ability of Goddess Dorthea to create a sound around faith that feels perfectly suited for this very moment in time.
