Goddess Dorthea keeps things to the absolute essentials on the intimate sound of “ADORN”. Full of a summery sun-drenched spirit is a mellowed wash of color. A great deal of textures filter into the overall collection yet there is a spaciousness about it. A vast landscape comes into play within these pieces for the lyrics suggest an enormity in the best way possible. Her lyrics seem to perfectly align with the washed-out presence of the sound. Production here has a tactile approach to it, with every beat gaining a physicality of sorts nicely bouncing the grooves forward.

Tempos are kept slow and steady on the delicate “Rock & Foundation”. Here her words are carefully selected, with a vision that has such a reassuring quality to them, as they waft on up into the sky. Beats represent a heartbeat at first on the careful evolution of “Safety & Security” with the bass gaining its own majesty. Keys intermingle, and the way the many different chords seem to float on by gives it a deep house quality to it, for there is a spiritual element behind the sound. Easily the most psychedelic, dreamy track “Love & Light” features a carefully considered growth, one that has a sense of peace within it. Piano adds to the thankful disposition of “Divinity & Infinity” bringing it all to a wonderful close.

“ADORN” revels in the strength and welcoming presence of Goddess Dorthea’s voice, one that has a truly soothing quality.
